Apparently you can tug on SuperCam's cape.
Cam Newton had his third straight poor game as the Carolina Panthersfell 28-10 on Thursday night to the New Orleans Saints.
Newton posted career lows in completion percentage (35.7) -- on 10-of-28 passing -- and passer rating (39.4). Newton committed two turnovers, including his fifth-straight game with an interception, was sacked four times and threw for just 151 yards.
The quarterback shouldered the blame for the loss following the game.
"I knew I missed a lot of throws, and I'm not blaming anybody but myself," Newton said, per Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer.
The loss shouldn't all be on the quarterback. His offensive line is a mess and his receivers dropped several passes.Â
Newton was then asked if he tried to do too much.
"Obviously I didn't do enough, being that the Panthers lost," he said.
Newton did have the Panthers' only touchdown of the night on a fantastic run and dive, but the franchise quarterback needs to make more than one or two fantastic plays a night for Carolina to win.
