Ben Roethlisberger practicing, hopes to play

Don't count out Ben Roethlisberger for the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.

The veteran quarterback -- who sustained a foot injury in Sunday's win over the Raiders -- has shed his walking boot and was limited at practice on Thursday.

When asked if he'll be on the field on Sunday against the Browns, Roethlisberger responded, "I hope so."

Roethlisberger's Week 10 availability remains in doubt, but this certainly qualifies as progress for the quarterback. Roethlisberger suffered a mid-foot sprain against the Raiders, an injury that typically takes multiple weeks to heal.

The Steelers have a timely bye in Week 11, which undoubtedly will tempt the Steelers to give Roethlisberger a three-week break between game action.

Landry Jones will start against the Browns if Big Ben can't go.
