Bacarri Rambo waived by Washington Redskins

The Washington Redskins announced Tuesday that Rambo has been waived.

A sixth-round draft pick out of Georgia in 2013, Rambo started 11 games at free safety as a rookie but was ultimately benched for taking poor angles and missing too many tackles.

Forced into the starting lineup with Meriweather banned, Rambo whiffed on DeAndre Hopkins' 76-yard touchdown in Week 1 and misplayed the pass on Marcedes Lewis' 63-yard score in Week 2.

Former Broncos safety Duke Ihenacho is expected to replace Rambo as the top backup once he gets up to speed on the Redskins' system.
