Young's hamstring injury mars Eagles' victory

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Vince Young led the Philadelphia Eagles on two scoring drives before leaving with a hamstring injury in a 24-14 preseason-ending victory over the New York Jets on Thursday night.

Young, starting for Michael Vick as both teams rested almost all of their starters in the preseason finale, was 15-of-23 passing for 193 yards and one touchdown pass to Chad Hall. But Young was hurt when he rolled out on a fourth-down play against the Jets just before halftime and was about to run for the first down when his right leg appeared to get stuck in the turf.

There was no immediate word on the severity of the injury. Mike Kafka replaced Young for the Eagles.

Jets rookie quarterback Greg McElroy, starting for regular No. 1 Mark Sanchez, left the game after injuring his right thumb during the second quarter.
