Vikings sign Booty to practice squad

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- The Minnesota Vikings have signed quarterback John David Booty and seven others to the practice squad.

Preseason Statistics
Passer rating: 62.9

Passing yards: 169

TDs/INTs: 0/1

The Vikings announced the practice squad on Sunday. The others are running back Ian Johnson, tight end Garrett Mills, offensive tackles Chris Clark and Drew Radovich, receiver Nick Moore, defensive tackle Tremaine Johnson and safety Colt Anderson.

Booty was the team's third-string quarterback last season. But he lost out on a spot on the active roster when the Vikings signed Brett Favre to be the starter. Tarvaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels will be the backups.

Mills was on the active roster the last two seasons but has had a difficult time staying healthy since he arrived here in 2007.
