As training camps open in NFL cities across America, one veteran is hanging it up.
Defensive lineman Corey Wootton announced his retirement Tuesday on Twitter following five NFL seasons:
Wootton, a Northwestern product, last played in Minnesota in 2014, appearing in 15 games and registering 16 tackles. Wootton played most of his career in Chicago, with his most notable sack being his first one, a vicious takedown of Brett Favre on the frigid turf of TCF Bank Stadium in 2010. It would be Favre's last play in the NFL.
