Tom Brady still popular: QB tops Pro Bowl voting

Tom Brady, now 16 years into a legendary career, remains one of the best players in the NFL. His production, longevity and undeniable star wattage has made him the most popular player in Pro Bowl fan balloting this season.

Brady received 701,554 fan votes to lead all eligible players in balloting for the 2016 Pro Bowl, which will be played Jan. 31 at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu. Fan voting ended Tuesday.

This wasn't a landslide victory for Brady. Cam Newton, who is tearing it up for the 13-0 Carolina Panthers, finished second with 701,086 votes. The top five was rounded out by Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton (525,638 votes), Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer (514,967 votes) and Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers (510,374 votes).

The lesson? Raise your children to be star quarterbacks, who remain popular in pee-wee football, high school, prom court, on college campus, the pros and, yes, NFL.com fan voting tallies.

The Pro Bowl players are determined by the consensus votes of fans, players and coaches. The Pro Bowl players will be revealed exclusively on NFL Network on Tuesday, Dec. 22 at 8 p.m. ET.

The teams are constructed during a live Pro Bowl draft with "general managers" Michael Irvin and Jerry Rice. The draft will be aired on ESPN2 and is worth watching for no other reason than seeing things get awkward when Rice's decision-making gets rightfully lampooned.

Also, there was that one time Mooch and Marshall Faulk were almost blown into the mouth of the mighty Pacific. They won't be there this year, unfortunately.
