Titans' Delanie Walker on Jaguars loss: 'It's disgusting'

The Tennessee Titans flatlined out of the gate Sunday, falling behind early in a wash of turnovers and ugly offense in a 29-27 loss to the previously winless Jacksonville Jaguars.

The defeat -- in which quarterback Jake Locker was grounded with a potentially season-ending foot injury -- sunk the Titans to 4-5 on the season and erased any flights of fancy about Tennessee looming as a sleeping giant in the AFC.

"It's disgusting. I'm disappointed. I'm embarrassed," tight end Delanie Walker said after the game, per TitanInsider.

"A team that's 0-8 comes in here and beats us? Beats us on our home field -- that's 0-8, the Jaguars? Come on," Walker said.

The Titans next face the Indianapolis Colts (6-3) on Thursday night, but Walker refused to chat about the race for the AFC South.

"Talking about first place? Talking about first place? We just got whooped by the Jaguars," he said. "We ain't talking first place no more. It's out the window. We've got to come back and play the Colts. I don't know how everybody's gonna handle it. I mean, we lost to the Jaguars."

Remember, the Titans were whacked by the hapless Jags last season, too, and -- back in 2011, sitting at 7-6 -- Tennessee fell to an 0-13 Colts team. Walker came to Tennessee from San Francisco, a team under Jim Harbaugh that traditionally takes care of business against lesser opponents and rises up in the moment.

"We've been a part of this crap for the last three years," Titans offensive tackle Michael Roos said. " ... I don't know if guys think it's just gonna happen because of their record, but every Sunday there is an NFL game you're playing in, despite what their record is."

That message never got through Sunday. Soul-crushing losses have been too common under coach Mike Munchak, and it's a challenge to take the Titans seriously until some consistency is displayed.
