O'Brien unsure if Andre Johnson will attend minicamp

The Texans are bracing for Andre Johnson to take his offseason disappearing act to the next level.

Asked Friday if his All-Pro wide receiver planned to show up for next week's mandatory minicamp, coach Bill O'Brien acknowledged that Johnson's intentions remain a mystery.

"You know, again, I don't know," O'Brien said. "I don't know."

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported weeks ago that Johnson was unlikely to attend. Under contract through 2016, the 32-year-old pass-catcher has skipped all 10 of the team's voluntary offseason sessions.

Johnson made waves in May when he met with reporters to openly question whether Houston was still the right home for him after last season's 2-14 debacle. While conversations between player and team have been amicable, Rapoport was told that Johnson's frustrations are tied to whether or not he's up for another rebuilding project.

Despite accounting for 12,661 yards and 61 touchdowns over 11 seasons, Johnson doesn't have much leverage here.

Unless the Texans are blown away by a trade offer, it's Houston or bust for Andre.
