Russell Wilson destroyed the Panthers on third down

Russell Wilson showed last year he has the ability to raise his game when the stakes are at their highest. We saw it again during Saturday's Divisional Round playoff win over the Panthers.

This was especially so on third down. In that money spot, the Seahawks quarterback completed all eight of his pass attempts for 199 yards, seven first downs and three touchdowns.

"That was a fantastic night, coming through in those crucial situations," Carroll said of Wilson. "I was really fired up for Russell. He hit almost everything. Three third-down TD passes is almost unheard of. How does that ever happen?"

It was a brilliant game for Wilson, who posted the fifth-best passer rating (149.2) in playoff history. Warren Moon, a Hall of Fame quarterback and mentor to Wilson, placed it among the QB's best performances ever.

"Sometimes I think I'm made for these situations," Wilson said. "I try to be prepared for us, and when you're prepared, you're never scared. You just go."

There's an argument to be made that the final four teams in the NFL playoffs house collectively the four best quarterbacks in the league right now. Re-watch Saturday's game before you put Wilson at the bottom of your personal power rankings.
