The Baltimore Ravens' offensive line has looked vastly improved under the direction of new offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak this season. They face a big challenge to keep up that progress the coming weeks.
The Ravens announced Wednesday that starting left tackle Eugene Monroe will undergo "minor" knee surgery that will keep him out of the lineup. NFL Media's Aditi Kinkhabwala was told the Ravens believe Monroe will be out three to four weeks. Monroe has been a steady starter since arriving from Jacksonville last year, shoring up a long-time problem area for the Ravens.
That means undrafted rookie James Hurst, out of UNC, will face the fearsome Carolina Panthers pass rush in his first NFL start. That's the bad news. The good news is that the Ravens play three soft pass rushes in the following weeks: Indianapolis, Tampa Bay, and Atlanta.Â
