Rams QB Feeley injures thumb, doesn't return vs. Browns

CLEVELAND -- St. Louis Rams quarterback A.J. Feeley was taken from the field for evaluation after appearing to injure his right thumb during the first quarter of Saturday night's 19-17 preseason road victory over the Cleveland Browns.

Feeley, starting ahead of rookie Sam Bradford, was hit by Browns linebacker Chris Gocong on a third-down pass. Feeley completed the throw but came up holding his right wrist. He stayed in the game and threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to tight end Daniel Fells.

Trainers looked at Feeley when he came to the sideline, then the quarterback was taken to the Rams' locker room.

The team announced via Twitter that Feeley suffered a right thumb injury and wasn't likely to return. He didn't play again.

Bradford came in for St. Louis' next drive and nearly threw an interception on his first pass attempt.
