Rams agree to terms with second-round pick Leonard

ST. LOUIS —- The St. Louis Rams agreed to terms on a four-year contract with second-round pick RB Brian Leonard, the team announced today.

Leonard, 6-1, 226, from Rutgers University, was chosen by the Rams in the second-round (52nd overall) of the 2007 NFL Draft.

As a senior, Leonard earned first-team All-America honors for the third consecutive year and added second-team All-Big East Conference honors, despite being used more as a blocker. Leonard finished the season, with 93 carries for 427 yards with five touchdowns and 38 receptions for 294 yards. His efforts contributed to the Scarlet Knights' 11 wins in 2006, tying a school record.

During his career at Rutgers, Leonard started 45 of the 47 games he played and holds a Big East Conference record with at least one reception in each of those 47 games. His 207 career receptions, 272 points scored and 5,961 all-purpose yards are Rutgers career-records.
