The early reports are good for Green Bay Packers nose tackle B.J. Raji. The anchor of the defensive line went down with an ankle injury while being blocked against the Indianapolis Colts in the second quarter. He did not return.

Raji is scheduled to undergo an MRI today, but a source with knowledge of the situation told NFL Network analyst Steve Wyche that no structural damange to the ankle was expected to be found. Raji, however, was not optimistic when he left the locker room with a limp, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reporter Tom Silverstein wrote.

The Packers defensive scheme relies on Raji's combination of strength and nimble feet to press the point of attack along the line. Defensive end Ryan Pickett would slide to nose tackle if Raji misses time.
