Quick Take: Rex strikes back

It was over when
The Bears have long supported quarterback Rex Grossman and that was never more evident than by the way they played on Saturday night. The Bears looked motivated and were performing at a regular-season pace through the first half. The 49ers did score 15 cosmetic points in the fourth quarter, but never really threatened.

Game ball
Grossman completed 13-of-20 passes for 211 yards two touchdowns. There were still some red flags for Grossman who did throw an interception and fumbled the ball once (which he did recover). But overall, the Bears should be pleased with the effort.

Key stat
Bears WR Bernard Berrian had another solid performance as he notched three receptions for 79-yards and a touchdown -- a 25-yard strike in the second quarter. RB Cedric Benson managed only 33 rushing yards on 19 attempts.

Noteworthy
Al Harris was among many players held out of action on Saturday night. San Francisco backup Trent Dilfer completed 8-of-11 passes for 90 yards and a touchdown.
