Quick Take: Ravens rely on defense in win

It was over when ...
Ravens RB Willis McGahee scored on a 5-yard touchdown run with 6:28 remaining. The TD put Baltimore ahead, 27-13. Miami threatened to cut into the lead on its next drive, but turned the ball over on downs at the Ravens' 19-yard line.

While McGahee and QB Joe Flacco were effective on offense, it was LB Terrell Suggs who dominated the game. Suggs' 44-yard interception return for a touchdown in the first quarter -- his first career score -- gave the Ravens a 10-3 lead. Suggs finished with seven tackles and also sacked Miami QB Chad Pennington to end the first half.

Key stat
The Ravens stopped the Dolphins' "Wildcat" offense and held Miami to 71 yards rushing. They have not allowed a team to gain 100 yards on the ground in six straight games, and they extended their streak of not allowing an individual 100-yard rusher to 25 straight games, the longest current streak in the NFL.

With two sacks in the game, Dolphins LB Joey Porter increased his season total to 8.5, the most he's had since 2005 (10.5). ... Baltimore TE Todd Heap (three catches, 29 yards) surpassed the 4,000-yard receiving mark for his career. ... With Suggs' pick-6, the Ravens now have 26 interception returns for touchdowns since 1999, most in the NFL over that time. ... Miami's lone victory last season came against Baltimore, with current Ravens offensive coordinator Cam Cameron as head coach.
