Brian Westbrook rushed for a first down on third-and-5 with 3:51 to play. The conversion allowed the Eagles to run an extra 1:37 off the clock and forced the Giants to burn their remaining timeouts. New York did get the ball back with 2:09 left, but after scoring a touchdown with 20 seconds remaining, it failed to recover the onside kick.

Westbrook dominated for the second straight week. He showed impressive durability in carrying the ball a career-high 33 times and wore down a Giants defense that was intent on stopping him. He finished with 203 total yards and two touchdowns.

Key stat
Philadelphia was outstanding on third down. It converted 12 of 18 tries and seemed to break the Giants' defensive will with its repeated success in continuing drives.
