Quick Take: Colts at Falcons

Keep your eye on ...

Colts QB Jim Sorgi: With Peyton Manning still recovering from knee surgery, Sorgi has not exactly played the way the Colts' coaching staff had hoped. In the meantime, Jared Lorenzen looked sharp against the Panthers on Saturday, throwing for 117 yards and two touchdowns.

Colts TE Jacob Tamme: The recipient of both those Lorenzen touchdown passes, Tamme did what was expected of him when the Colts drafted him as a pass-catching TE out of Kentucky. With more performances like that one, Tamme will fit in nicely in the Colts' offense.

Falcons QB Matt Ryan: The first-round pick came out and made a statement in his first preseason action last week against the Jaguars. He completed 9 of 15 passes and threw a touchdown. The other three Atlanta signal callers struggled, meaning that if Ryan can build off his preseason debut, he could be on his way to sewing up the starting job.

Falcons DE Jamaal Anderson: As a top-10 draft pick in 2007, big things were expected from Anderson in his rookie season. While he did start 16 games, he failed to record a single sack and was not the force the Falcons envisioned when they drafted him so high. He had a sack in the preseason opener last week, however, and is trying to show why he was so highly regarded coming out of Arkansas.
