Texans RB Ryan Moats scored his third rushing touchdown of the day. Kris Brown's extra point gave Houston a 31-10 lead with 3:39 remaining.

Game ball

After committing an unforced fumble on his third touch of the game, the suddenly turnover-prone Steve Slaton was benched. Enter Moats, who carried the ball 23 times, recording a career-high 126 yards to go with his three TDs.

Key Stat

Despite throwing two interceptions, Matt Schaub still managed to pass for 268 yards, compared to just 107 for Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Bills. Much of that was due to Buffalo's inability to keep drives alive, as the Bills converted just two of 10 third-down opportunities.

Noteworthy

Bills rookie S Jairus Byrd recorded a pair of interceptions for the third consecutive week, giving him seven on the season, all coming in the last four weeks. ... The Texans have won four of their last five games. With a 5-3 record, Houston is two games above .500 for the first time in franchise history. ... Texans TE Owen Daniels sprained his right knee in the first quarter and did not return. ... Bills DE Aaron Schobel left the game with a groin injury in the second half and did not return. ... Bills WR Terrell Owens scored his second touchdown of the season on a 29-yard end-around in the first quarter.
