The Jets were unable to convert a second consecutive onside kick after a 38-yard field goal with less than two minutes to play pulled them to within two. In a driving rain, the Browns handed the ball to Jamal Lewis, who fought his way 31 yards for the touchdown that sealed the win for the Browns.

On Cleveland's first series of the second half, Braylon Edwards caught a 4-yard strike from Derek Anderson in the end zone for his 13th TD reception of the year, tying the franchise record held by Gary Collins for 44 years.

RB Lewis finished with 118 yards and a TD on 21 carries. He also picked up 19 yards and a touchdown on three receptions. His final rumbling touchdown run proved to be crucial, given the recent history of the Browns. The last seven Browns games have been decided by a total of 38 points -- six by a TD or less. The Browns are 4-2 in those games.
