The NFL recently released the results from a joint study with the NFLPA that looked at what helmets best reduced the severity of impact.
The performance of the 17 helmets in these laboratory tests was evaluated across all impact velocities and locations and compared with one another. A statistical test was used to group helmets with similar performance scores.
