  • RG Robert Hunt (biceps; injured reserve) won't have is 21-day practice window opened this week but there is optimism he will return before the end of the season, head coach Dave Canales told reporters Monday.

  • QB Shedeur Sanders will be the starter for the remainder of the season, head coach Kevin Stefanski announced. "He has constantly and consistently gotten better," Stefanski said.

  • C Ethan Pocic suffered a torn Achilles in Sunday's loss to the Titans, per Stefanski.

SIGNINGS

  • S Damontae Kazee is being signed to the practice squad, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported. Kazee, who was most recently with the Browns, is expected to be elevated quickly once ready, per Rapoport and Garafolo. The addition comes after S Brian Branch suffered a torn Achilles.

INJURIES

  • QB Daniel Jones is believed to have suffered a torn Achilles in Sunday's loss, which would knock him out for the remainder of the season, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported. Jones is undergoing an MRI to confirm the injury.

ROSTER CUTS

  • DT Naquan Jones is being waived, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported Monday. Jones' release comes with several Chargers players set to come off injured reserve, including Omarion Hampton, per Pelissero.

INJURIES

  • WR DK Metcalf stayed overnight in Baltimore after going to the hospital with stomach pains after Sunday's win over the Ravens, team spokesman Burt Lauten told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport. Metcalf's stay was out of an abundance of caution and meant to rule out any significant internal injuries after the WR took a hard hit during the game, per Rapoport. Metcalf will fly back to Pittsburgh on Monday. The receiver's status for next Monday night's against Miami is still to be determined.
