There are just four weeks of the regular season remaining and the race to Super Bowl 60 remains wide open. That means the big games are coming from all angles in the final month before the playoffs begin.
That is certainly the case in Week 15 and these are three major games and storylines I will be focusing on.
Huge battle in the AFC East
The Buffalo Bills have controlled the AFC East for the past five years, but a victory for the New England Patriots on Sunday will give them their first division crown since Tom Brady departed at the end of the 2019 season.
This game will feature two playmaking quarterbacks capable of taking centre stage on any given weekend. One is a player we have been used to seeing at the top of his game for several years now in Buffalo's Josh Allen. He ranks second in the NFL with 34 offensive touchdowns in 2025. The other is Drake Maye, who is the second-highest-rated quarterback in the league this year with a mark of 111.9.
Both are genuine NFL Most Valuable Player candidates, but it is Maye who has had the biggest impact on his team. Working alongside new head coach Mike Vrabel, the second-year quarterback has transformed New England's fortunes. Last season, the Patriots won just four games and had they not defeated the Bills – who rested their key starters – in Week 18, they would have secured the first pick in the NFL Draft as the league's worst team.
New England have already beaten Buffalo once this season in Week 5, but I feel some Josh Allen magic could turn this one in favour of the Bills. That would end the Patriots' 10-game winning streak and put Buffalo just one win back with three to play. Then it really would be game on in the AFC East.
Will there be points galore in Los Angeles?
I'm probably about to put the kiss of death on this game between the 8-5 Detroit Lions and the 10-3 Los Angeles Rams by suggesting it could be a high-scoring and entertaining affair. If this turns into a 13-10 slugfest on Sunday evening, you know who to blame!
But the promise for points is there. Detroit have scored 34 points or more seven times this season and put 44 on the Dallas Cowboys in Week 14. The Rams have scored 33 points or more in six games this year and scored 45 against Arizona on Sunday.
The Lions are going to need another big offensive display because they are susceptible to shipping points given their injuries in the secondary. And the Rams are arguably the best team in the league led by MVP front-runner Matthew Stafford at quarterback and the playmaking duo of Puka Nacua and Davante Adams at wide receiver.
This is not going to be an easy task at all for the Lions and to have any shot, they need to see the best of running back Jahmyr Gibbs. He is arguably the best skill-position player in the league at the moment and he opens up so much for Jared Goff and the passing game, as well as being so dangerous on the ground. But I don't think it will be enough against what is shaping up to be a very special Rams team.
A Super Bowl preview in Denver?
There is not really a clear Super Bowl favourite this season and I think you could genuinely make a case for between eight and 10 teams winning it all. So, why not the Denver Broncos or the Green Bay Packers?
Like the New England Patriots, the Broncos constantly have to prove themselves and all they keep doing is winning. Denver have won 10 in a row and the only reason they have doubters at this stage of the season is because their conference-leading 11-2 record features nine one-score victories. That's being picky, I believe. The Broncos possess one of the league's elite defenses and more than enough playmakers on offense, starting with quarterback Bo Nix.
The problem for the Broncos on Sunday is that they are about to run into one of the NFL's form teams in the 9-3-1 Green Bay Packers, who have won four in a row. The past two games have seen Jordan Love excel at quarterback and they too boast a defense that can take over contests.
This game at Mile High will have a true playoff feel to it and I think the Broncos are going to play yet another one-score contest. But, this time, I think they come out on the wrong end of the scoreline to see their winning streak snapped at 10.
