Michigan issues cause college programs to discuss protocols

In light of the controversy over whether Michigan coaches knew if quarterback Shane Morris was playing with a concussion, The Lansing (Mich.) State Journal outlined the concussion protocol for the Michigan State football team.

The Chicago Tribune wrote that Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly was confident in the Fighting Irish's concussion protocols.

The Baltimore Sun reported that Maryland coach Randy Edsall also discussed his team's concussion protocol.

MLive.com reported how more than 1,000 Michigan students protested the handling of Morris' injury.

KMSP-TV in Minneapolis/St. Paul reported that Northwestern University athletic director Dave Hieb dealt with a similar situation last season.

And College Football Talk reported that Congressman Bill Pascrell Jr. of New Jersey called for the Big Ten to review its concussion policy.
