Peyton Manning isn't ready to say his farewells just yet.
Discussion of the Colts' future at quarterback amplified Sunday with a 19-13 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, which officially gave Indianapolis the No. 1 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. Manning didn't offer any predictions of the Colts' plans, but he did say he wouldn't have a problem remaining in Indianapolis even if the team adds a young quarterback.
"I think I can co-exist with any player I've ever played with," Manning said, according to The Indianapolis Star. "I think I've always been a good teammate that way.
"But to speculate on who we're going to draft, that's probably more for other people to do, not other players."
Colts owner Jim Irsay wouldn't reveal anything Sunday night, although he did tweet: "The season has ended and the heavy lifting begins to restore The Horseshoe to Greatness...it takes what it takes...."
Regardless of the Colts' offseason actions, Manning is intent on working his way back after missing the entire 2011 season while rehabbing from his third neck surgery.
"I will continue to rehab," he said. "I'll sit down with Eric and (head trainer) Dave Hammer sometime this week and map out our offseason plan ... just get some kind of schedule during the offseason to rehab.
"I'll continue to do that and keep trying to get healthier and see how that plays out each week."
