Luke Kuechly suffers concussion, is out for Panthers

Just one play after delivering a monster hit, Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly was escorted by the medical staff to the locker room after suffering a concussion during the second quarter of Sunday's 20-9 win over the Jaguars. The team ruled Kuechly was ruled out and did not return to the game.

This is obviously terrible news for the Panthers, who just celebrated a five-year extension for the former first-round pick and defensive player of the year. Though the Jaguars only put up 10 points at the half, they'd been aggressively attacking the second level of Carolina's defense and will undoubtedly do so for the remainder of the game.

Kuechly has been remarkably consistent to start his career and has yet to miss a start. The Jaguars scored on their first possession without Kuechly on the field.
