Le'Veon Bell, Aaron Donald could skip minicamps

While it seems like Odell Beckhamwill be attendingGiants mandatory minicamp this week, two other star players around the NFL are far less certain to do so.

Franchise tagged Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell and Rams star defensive tackle Aaron Donald are not shoo-ins to attend camp this week, according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport. The Steelers and the Rams both start minicamp Tuesday.

There's no doubt that Bell and Donald are both the top players at their positions and deserve contracts befitting of that distinction. However, the Steelers seem content to let Bell reassert himself under the franchise tag, which Bell has yet to sign. The Rams have been intensely negotiating with Donald, but have yet to find any common ground.

While the Rams' new coaching staff would obviously love to get its hands on Donald and acclimate him to a very different Wade Phillips defense, this is part of doing business with a superstar. Bell, meanwhile, knows the Steelers' offense well enough to stay away without much trouble.

These situations tend to get more serious once an actual training camp holdout is involved. Thankfully, both clubs are more than a month away from that benchmark.
