The revolving door under center keeps spinning -- viciously, mercilessly, endlessly -- in Cleveland.
The Browns will not place McCown on injured reserve as they expect him back this season, a source informed of their plans told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport. Jackson described McCown as week-to-week, noting that the injury -- a "deep sprain" -- was to the 37-year-old's shoulder/clavicle area.
McCown's body broke down just one week after Cleveland lost Robert Griffin III in the season opener. It's a trying situation for Jackson, who never expected to fly through two veteran passers in as many weeks to start the year.
Kessler was a mixed bag in the preseason, to be kind, and certainly has a lot to learn over a short period of time. Jackson talked about the team still exploring their options at the position, noting that rookie Kevin Hogan could be activated off the practice squad with passer-turned-receiver Terrelle Pryor as another option.
