Saints safety Darren Sharper intercepted Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez for the second time with 4:20 to play. Sharper's pick allowed New Orleans to work the clock and by the time New York got the ball back, only 1:47 remained. With so little time, Sanchez was forced to make some risky throws and Randall Gay intercepted him along the sideline.

Sharper's first interception of Sanchez turned the momentum early in the second quarter. The Jets had put together an impressive drive until Sharper's 99-yard interception return for a touchdown. Instead of going down 7-3, New Orleans was able to claim a 10-0 lead and never looked back.
Key Stat
New Orleans' defense actually outscored its offense. The Saints are known for their explosive passing game led by Drew Brees, but it was the defense that led them past the Jets with two touchdowns.
