Simpson was sentenced last Thursday to 15 days in jail and three years of probation on a felony drug-related charge.
The Rams brought Simpson in for a workout last week.
Though his legal saga is over, Simpson could face a four-game suspension from the NFL, league sources told Pro Football Weekly.
Simpson had 50 catches for 725 yards and four touchdowns with the Cincinnati Bengals last season.
