Jameis Winston on the sidelines as Bucs beat Dolphins

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- Jameis Winston sat out and DeVante Parker played, which was the biggest news in the exhibition season finale Thursday between the Buccaneers and Dolphins, won by Tampa Bay, 22-17.

Some Bucs starters played briefly, but No. 1 overall draft pick Winston took the night off after warming up. Almost all of the Dolphins' starters sat out, and they didn't play either of their top two quarterbacks, Ryan Tannehill or Matt Moore.

Dolphins first-round draft pick Parker made his exhibition season debut after recovering from foot surgery. He played briefly, was targeted three times and caught one pass for 11 yards for Miami (1-3).

The Bucs (2-2) lost three linemen to injuries: starting guard Garrett Gilkey (left knee) and backup defensive ends Larry English (left knee) and T.J. Fatinikun (shoulder).
