The move suggests the Jaguars do not expect Jones-Drew to show up for training camp any time soon, and it frees up a spot on the Jaguars' 90-man roster

Jones-Drew has two years remaining on his five-year contract. He is scheduled to earn significantly less in the final two years of the contract and believes he has outperformed its value.

Jaguars owner Shad Khan and general manager Gene Smith have said Jones-Drew won't receive a new contract, and the running back appears prepared to hold out through training camp, which could net him some $900,000 in fines if the Jaguars choose to levy any.

The Jaguars signed fullback Will Ta'ufo'ou to take Jones-Drew's spot on the 90-man roster. Ta'ufo'ou has spent time with the Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns, Denver Broncos and Tennessee Titans. But he hasn't played in a regular-season game.
