ITC LIVE WHISPERS: ELWAY JOINS THE SETITC LIVE WHISPERS: JOHN ELWAY JOINS THE SET
Training camp is here in full force. We've got you covered today with live coverage on NFL Network all day. On NFL.com, we'll be featuring highlights from the television coverage and notes from our reporters in the field. Here are today's whispers.
**» **Buccaneers coach Dirk Koetter named Adam Humphries the No. 3 wide receiver. Humphries signed with the club as an undrafted free agent in 2015. The Bucs' other two wideouts are Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson.
**» ** Peyton Manning can't stay away from the football field. Manning visited his former coach and Dolphins head coach Adam Gase at training camp. The former signal-caller also spoke to the team Sunday night.

**» **Colts coach Chuck Pagano said first-round pick Ryan Kelly sustained a strained shoulder injury Sunday. Kelly will not practice Monday and is listed as day-to-day.
**» ** The Broncos, who have had at least 12 wins in each of the last four seasons, are looking to continue the streak. The team opens with Carolina at home. It's an important game -- both teams have something to prove after Super Bowl 50. Week 2 is Colts and Week 3 is at Bengals. They have a rough first three games, but everyone will be gunning for them all season. Safety T.J. Ward thinks Denver can have one of the best defenses of all time, but is defense good enough to carry the unstable offense? Malik Jackson is gone, Danny Trevathan is in Chicago, but they still have Super Bowl MVP Von Miller, who has 60 sacks in his first five seasons -- good enough for sixth all-time. We will get a better idea of the Broncos' potential after the final 53 are selected.
» Famed Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed is officially back on the field after a three-year absence. But this isn't a Brett Favre scenario; Reed is now an assistant defensive backs coach for the Buffalo Bills.

» Broncos general manager John Elway, and former Denver quarterback Hall of Famer, sat down with NFL Network's Andrew Siciliano and Terrell Davis to discuss QB1s and the chase for another championship.

"We're chasing another championship is what we're doing. We not going to try to 'defend' it. I think you go through an off-season, we won the world championship last year, I'm very proud of that. We lost some good football players, we picked up some good football players. The great thing about training camp is we get to go figure out where we are ... we feel good about where we are. We feel like we have a chance to be as good defensively, even though we played as well as any defense could possibly play in the playoffs last year but we still feel like we got a great defense and we feel like we're better on the offensive side."
"Number one is to win games, but I think number two, with this offense and the philosophy and Gary (Kubiak's) philosophy offensively is to have good balance on the offensive side, be able to run the football and also throw the ball and also use a play action with a good running game."
"We got good competition there (at the quarterback position). Mark Sanchez is a guy that's won playoff games. He's been two AFC Championship games and we feel like he's a guy that's got the experience and get him in the right situation, we feel like he fits good with us with what we want to do ... Obviously Paxton Lynch who we had in the first round. We got all the tools, its just a matter of when they all come together."
"Its always tough to follow a guy like Peyton Manning. It's almost like a vacuum, when he walks out the door, you lose a lot of that (leadership.) But I think that with the football team that we have. With the leadership like Gary and the leadership on the defensive side and somebody will step up on the offensive side ... whether it be Mark or Trevor or Paxton, who ever steps into that role, as they gain confidence, they'll gain that leadership ability. I think that the bottom line is where leadership comes from, especially as a quarterback is you have to go out and perform and when you perform, they will follow and they will follow you in tough spots."
» Arizona safety Tyrann Mathieu is still on the sideline. After tearing his ACL late last season, Mathieu was sidelined for the Cardinals playoff run and had his second major knee surgery in a three year period. Mathieu seems prone to ACL tears, so the Cards aren't rushing it. He believes he will be back before the preseason is over, and is itching on the training camp sidelines to get back into the game.
Wish y'all could see me move around.. #Savage

"Madden 17," which will be released during the 2016 NFL season, ranks Mathieu as the the No. 1 free safety, and safety, overall, with a 96 out of 100 ranking. So it seems like the Honey Badger is keeping his head up.
Greatness/Success is never measured by perfection, but by what we have overcame En route to being Great!

» It's not as innocent and adorable as the Green Bay Packers riding into camp on children's bicycles or as flashy as Patrick Peterson dropping into Cards camp via helicopter, but it is something I've never seen before. Tavon Austin rolled into Rams camp on some sort of scooter-bike apparatus.
» Patrick Peterson may be able to use that helicopter to check out this creative tribute to Redskins QB Krik Cousins, coming soon to a corn field near you...

» Pittsburgh fans: if your boss won't let you ditch work to watch the Steelers practice at training camp, don't worry. Sammie Coates is here to give you an inside look (mostly at his crop-top.)

» Odell Beckham Jr. took a cleat to the foot at practice yesterday, but only suffered a few cuts and bruises. Today he took some time to talk with NFL Media's Michael Irvin. "When I look at it, we truly have a chance to hang a banner ... I hate losing... to go home with that feeling of a loss, I don't sleep well, I don't sleep well. I would love for Eli to break a record, go beat his brothers record... at the end of the day keep the bar high."
