Guard Amini Silatolu signs with Chicago Bears

Guard Amini Silatolu is headed to the Windy City.

The Chicago Bears signed the former Carolina Panthers lineman, the team announced Wednesday.

Silatolu heads to Chicago after spending the previous four seasons in Carolina. His stint with the Panthers was plagued by injuries. Silatolu suffered an ACL tear in November, which marked the second ACL tear of his career.

Chicago apparently deemed Silatolu healthy enough for a contract. The Midwestern State product also took visits to the Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, Kansas City Chiefs and Arizona Cardinals before getting a deal done with the Bears.

Silatolu has played in just 34 games over four seasons. If he can stay healthy, the 2012 second-round pick has shown some potential.
