The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have lost four straight and 10 of their last 11. All-Pro defensive tackle Gerald McCoy would like to see more of the locker room agitated with those results.
"I don't think anybody is upset enough with losing," McCoy said after Sunday's 22-17 loss to the Browns, per the Tampa Bay Times.
"Every time the game is over we sit here and say, 'Oh, they made a play, we didn't. When are we going to get tired of that?' I've been dealing with this for five years, I'm tired of it ... you've got to get tired of losing, man."
Don't blame McCoy for the defeat. On the heels of signing his seven-year, $98 million extension, the behemoth manhandledBrowns fill-in center Nick McDonald to help keep the Browns to just 50 yards on the ground.
Disruptive from wire to wire, McCoy piled up two sacks, three quarterback hits and two tackles for loss in an outing that left Browns bookend Joe Thomas to call him the quickest guy off the line he's ever played against.
Despite the heroics, coach Lovie Smith knows this wandering Bucs squad needs more than just McCoy to save what's left of Tampa's lost season.
"We're not a good football team right now," Smith said. "I think that's fairly obvious."
