John Harbaugh's search for a new gig begins in earnest this week.
His first known stop: the Atlanta Falcons.
The former Ravens coach interviewed with the Falcons on Monday, the team announced. This is the first announced interview for Harbaugh this cycle.
Harbaugh, possibly the top head coach candidate, is expected to be quite popular this cycle, also likely seeing interest from the Miami Dolphins, New York Giants and Tennessee Titans, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported Sunday.
"The Giants have been recruiting Harbaugh hard since the Ravens fired him on Tuesday," Pelissero said on NFL GameDay Morning. "The Falcons are the only team that doesn't have a GM in place, which could allow Harbaugh to bring his preferred guy.
"The Dolphins have interest, though they already hired a GM who has no ties to John Harbaugh.
"Don't count out the Titans, who have a lot of resources and a dynamic, young quarterback in Cam Ward to sell to potential young candidates."
If Harbaugh does a bunch of interviews, it's possible that teams come to him to expedite the process, instead of the other way around, Pelissero reported. Such is the courtesy for a veteran head coach and one of the top candidates of the 2026 hiring cycle.
Harbaugh, 63, was fired last week after 18 seasons as head coach in Baltimore after the Ravens failed to make the postseason on the final snap of their 2025 campaign. The Super Bowl XLVII champion coached Baltimore to a 180-113 regular-season record, 12 playoff appearances and six division titles in his nearly two decades at the helm.
In addition to Harbaugh's possible suitors, three other teams (Arizona, Cleveland, Las Vegas) have vacancies that the ex-Ravens coach could fill.
Baltimore has already set up and/or completed interviews with nearly a dozen candidates, including ex-Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski and top-seeded coordinators Vance Joseph and Klint Kubiak.
