EJ Manuel won't seek trade from Buffalo Bills

The re-signing of Matt Cassel has shoved EJ Manuel down the depth chart, but Buffalo's third-string quarterback isn't looking for a trade.

"I'm good where I'm at right now with the Bills," Manuel said Tuesday, per's Mike Rodak.

Coming off a promising preseason, Manuel was asked if he would benefit from a fresh start -- and a better chance to play -- somewhere else.

"I'm not sure," Manuel said. "For right now, I'm in my current place. I'm still here with the Bills. I want to be a part of this team and I want to help us win."

The team's first-round pick from 2013 admitted he was unhappy about landing third in the pecking order, but argued: "I did what I was supposed to do, and that was to have a good preseason and play well in the games."

Actually, what Manuel was supposed to do was win this job years ago.

That said, he's just as likely to play in Buffalo as anywhere else. Barring starter Tyrod Taylor burning down the house, we expect the Bills to roll out multiple starters in 2015. Besides, the list of suitors for Manuel is paper-thin -- if it exists at all.
