Colts extend GM Ryan Grigson through 2019

The Indianapolis Colts have locked down general manager Ryan Grigson.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Thursday that the Colts have extended Grigson through 2019, according to sources involved in the situation. Team owner Jim Irsay earlier this month alluded to an extension.

Though head coach Chuck Pagano and Grigson had a tumultuous 2015 season, Irsay said Pagano pushed for Grigson to receive a contract extension. Pagano signed his four-year extension with the club nearly a month ago. As Irsay put it, they're "contractually tied" together.

The Colts finished the 2015 season with an 8-8 record and hold the 18th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
