Chandler Jones, Logan Mankins won't play for Patriots

Brooks: Turkey Day primer

Week 12 opens with a three-course football feast on Thanksgiving Day. Bucky Brooks has analysis/picks for each game. **More ...**

The New England Patriots will be without Rob Gronkowski, Chandler Jones and Logan Mankins when they travel to face the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium on Thursday, The Star-Ledger's Conor Orr reported.

Gronkowski being out was no surprise after he underwent surgery this week on a broken forearm.

Jones hurt an ankle in a win over the Indianapolis Colts and did not return. He has 34 tackles, a team-high six sacks and three forced fumbles as a rookie defensive end. The Patriots will miss his pass rush.

Mankins missed last week's game with ankle and calf injuries. This will make four of the past five games the guard will miss.

Somehow, we think the Patriots will be just fine against the 4-6 Jets.
