Calvin Johnson inactive for Detroit Lions vs. Packers

We have our first big surprise on a busy Sunday morning for injuries. Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson missed Sunday's game because of a knee injury.

It's the first missed game for Megatron since the 2010 season finale. He routinely plays despite missing practice time, so there was optimism throughout this week that he would be able to suit up against the Green Bay Packers.

Detroit's receiver group already was thin heading into this game. Nate Burleson is out after his pizza-infused car accident. Ryan Broyles doesn't seem all the way back from his ACL tear, even though he's on the field. The team will ask Reggie Bush, receiver Kris Durham and its tight ends to carry the load more than usual.

The Lions haven't won in Green Bay since 1991. Doing it without Calvin Johnson would make quite a statement.
