Buccaneers continue interviews with Packers assistants

Green Bay Packers assistants Joe Philbin and Tom Clements have both scheduled interviews with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week to discuss the team's head-coaching vacancy, according to league sources.

The Bucs would like to wrap up the first round of interviews by the weekend, sources said. Their plan then is to whittle down the list for a second round of interviews and complete that process next week.

Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer interviewed Monday, and a league source said Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski, a candidate for several openings, is interviewing on Tuesday.

Tennessee Titans defensive coordinator Jerry Gray and former NFL head coaches Mike Sherman, Brad Childress and Marty Schottenheimer have also interviewed for the job. Houston Texans defensive coordinator Wade Phillips was a candidate for the position, but he pulled out of contention over the weekend.

Philbin already has interviewed with the Miami Dolphins, and the Oakland Raiders also would like to interview him for their head coaching vacancy, though no meeting is scheduled yet.
