Brandon Carr, Dallas Cowboys discussed paycut

One of the NFL's highest-paid cornerbacks could be looking for a new job soon.

Three years after signing Brandon Carr to a five-year, $50 million contract, the Dallas Cowboys have met with the cornerback's agent to discuss a possible paycut, per ESPN.com.

Carr is scheduled for an $8 million salary that will count $12.7 million against the salary cap.

"I don't have anything to report there," owner Jerry Jones said at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Carr, who turns 29 in May, failed to record an interception last season and took a step back in coverage.

The Cowboys would prefer to find common ground on a new deal. Injury-prone Morris Claiborne's $2.6 million salary is fully guaranteed, limiting the team's options at cornerback.

If Carr is cut loose, he's likely to find that the other 31 NFL teams don't value his services any more than the Cowboys have.
