Ohio State defensive end Joey Bosa, one of the top prospects in college football, was ejected from Friday's Fiesta Bowl after drawing a targeting penalty for this first-quarter hit on Notre Dame quarterback DeShone Kizer.
A targeting foul results in an automatic ejection.
The play marks the end of Bosa's college career. Bosa, a junior, confirmed after the game that he intends to apply for early entry into the 2016 NFL Draft, per ESPN. His intentions were no secret -- Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer said on Thursday that Bosa planned to enter the draft, and it was well-established that Bosa was leaning toward declaring for the draft even before Meyer's comment.
Bosa took to Twitter to apologize to OSU fans after being ejected.
If he indeed enters the draft, Bosa figures to be one of the most coveted talents available.
