Arians: 'We can win the Super Bowl with Drew Stanton'

With Carson Palmerheaded to injured reserve with a torn ACL, the most important job on a football field will fall to Drew Stanton as the Arizona Cardinalsfight to maintain their conference lead in the NFC.

Following Sunday's win over the St. Louis Rams, coach Bruce Arianstold The MMQB's Peter King that his team -- which has lost as many key players as any in the NFL -- won't let up and believes Stanton can drive them where they need to go.

"We can win the Super Bowl with Drew Stanton," Arians said. "There is no doubt in my mind."

Stanton doesn't bring the tools that Palmer possesses. NFL Media's Daniel Jeremiah said on his NFL NOW's *Scout's Eye* segment last week that Palmer was playing better than any quarterback in the NFC West.

However, Stanton has proven in his three wins this season that he can handle the role. More importantly, Arians trusts him enough not to change the offense -- a fact proven by the play-call on a huge touchdown throw to rookie John Brown.

The Cardinals have a brutally tough stretch of games to close out the season, starting with a home game against the 7-2 Detroit Lions. With two games left against the Seattle Seahawks and another against the San Francisco 49ers, Stanton will play a huge role in that push the Cardinals are making to play the first-ever home Super Bowl.
