Andre Johnson ready to mentor Colts' young WRs

Andre Johnson won't just be catching passes from Andrew Luck, he'll be mentoring the quarterback's young risers.

At 33 years old, the new Indianapolis Colts receiver has nearly a decade on the team's stable of young studs, T.Y. Hilton (25 years old), Donte Moncrief (21) and newly signed Duron Carter (23).

"I don't have a problem pulling a young guy to the side if he does something wrong. I don't have a problem with a young guy telling me something," Johnson said, per the team's official website. "That's what makes players great, when you can take constructive criticism. When you are able to critique each other. It makes the whole room better. That's what I'm going to try and bring here."

Filling the locker room void left by Reggie Wayne is a big boost for a Colts team with such a young wideout corps. On the field Johnson knows he'll also play a complimentary role to Hilton.

"Just a big receiver, a big body receiver, that you could probably use in the red zone and stuff like that and help T.Y. out where guys can't double him," Johnson said. "I'm just here to help. I'm not here to be no big dog, nothing like that. I'm here to help this organization win a Super Bowl. That's my goal."

Johnson has never been a big red zone target -- never catching double-digit touchdowns in a season -- but his presence will surly allow Hilton and his other mentees more room to operate.
