49ers QB Alex Smith was sacked by Eagles DE Trent Cole on fourth-and-7 with 3:45 remaining. San Francisco was down by 14 points and at Philadelphia's 22-yard line when the sack ended any hopes of a comeback.

Eagles WR DeSean Jackson continued to show why he is such a big-play threat, coming up with six catches for 140 yards and a touchdown. Jackson has 1,087 yards this season, becoming the third Eagles receiver under Andy Reid to reach 1,000. Jackson's 19-yard touchdown catch was his first score under 35 yards this season.

The 49ers doomed themselves from the get-go, committing four turnovers in the first half, including three interceptions thrown by Smith.
