Matterson was a rotational defender for UTSA but posted starter’s production in the impact columns. He used harmonious hands and feet for quick wins against Tennessee’s linemen and proved he could handle himself when it became a battle of force. However, he doesn’t rid himself of blockers quickly enough and needs to add more weight. Matterson's foot quickness, agility and forward-charging play demeanor could make him a player to watch as an upfield disruptor once he makes it into a camp.
