While Newman-Johnson has spent a majority of his time at guard, teams are likely to ask him to play center, where is size and length are a more natural fit. He's a decent run blocker with good pop and the ability to play in a variety of schemes. He has enough initial quickness to get into space and make blocks asked of centers in move-oriented offenses. His pass protection, however, is where the concern lies, as he has had issues playing with a consistent mirror and good balance. He offers center/guard flexibility and has backup potential at the next level.
