PLAYER ANALYSIS
Ascending safety prospect offering a combination of plus athleticism, field awareness and versatility. McKinney split time equally at slot, free safety and in the box and is accomplished in each. His coverage instincts, athleticism and quick-twitch burst are more cornerback than safety, which is why he's likely to be a coveted toy for teams looking to upgrade and diversify their sub-packages. He can sit in center field all day if needed, and he's an adequate open-field tackler but has room for improvement in that area. McKinney represents the new breed of versatile, matchup safety with high upside as an early starter.

PLAYER ANALYSIS
Former four-star prospect with good versatility and aggressiveness against the run and pass. Despite being a starter for only one season, Mayden played with solid awareness and confidence on the back end and was asked to play three positions just like his more heralded teammate, Xavier McKinney. His anticipation and burst work well over short spaces, but his short-stepping gait makes it tougher to close out larger patches of turf. He hasn't been a core special-teamer while at Alabama, but will need to prove he can do it as a potential backup in the league.

PLAYER ANALYSIS
Potential role as a dime defender who can line up at slot or as a high safety. Carter doesn't play with the speed or suddenness to match up as a nickel cornerback, so a full-time move to safety would be in his best interest. He plays with adequate instincts and pattern recognition but needs to run well as the play speed on tape may not inspire confidence from defensive coordinators looking for better range over the top.
