PLAYER ANALYSIS
Explosive athlete with blazing top-end speed and above-average ball production, Patterson allows receivers to declare their release and uses his speed and fluidity to track and phase the route whether it is a specialty route or a vertical one. Bigger receivers will have an advantage, but his ball skills and competitiveness should keep it from being a mismatch. He has zone or man-cover talent, but will need to ply his craft from the slot after playing outside at Maine. His recovery from an ACL tear works against him, but he has the talent to compete for a nickel spot once he's healthy.
